Prep operates a buddy system to ensure that all pupils are happy and safe at playtime. Prep 6 girls are asked to apply in writing to become a Buddy and even had to include references in their application. After completing their training, these girls wear blue buddy caps at playtime and each week they introduce a new game to the playground which is known as 'The Craze of the Week'. If you are having a lonely playtime or you can't think of a game to play, all you have to do is look for the blue cap!

Golden Playtimes Behaviour Charter

Our buddy system works alongside our playground behaviour charter, Golden Playtimes. These measures help to promote safe playtimes for all pupils and allow pupils the opportunity to partake in structured group games during break times and lunch times. 

Our Golden Playtimes behaviour charter:

• We are gentle

• We are kind and helpful

• We play well with others

• We care for our playground

• We try to sort out problems with a Buddy

• We listen to the bell and line up quickly

• We respect the grown-ups on duty
