Prep 4 have absolutely loved learning about WW2 so Miss Waugh decided it would be a good idea to see how they would enjoy the food during WW2! We have learnt lots about rationing, and Polly the cook at Castle Ward had told us about how people made carrot cookies as they had to ration sugar. The girls weren’t so sure about this so we decided to try them out for ourselves. We carefully read and followed the instructions, we measured out the ingredients and then we wrote our own recipes. We had lots of fun and some girls even decided they liked them after all!
