The blustery wet weather did not dampen the spirits of the P5 girls as they set off early on World Book Day to visit the Lisburn Road library.
Our visit to the newly furbished library inspired us all to expand and develop our reading and gave the girls the opportunity to become members in their own right.
Maura, the chief librarian, gave the girls a very interesting talk about the layout of the different genres of books and the system in place for borrowing materials from the library.
After listening intently to the presentation, the girls were eager to choose their two books, both from the shelves and from the prepared display of non-fiction books, relating to our current topics of “Vertebrates” and “Pets”.
The sun was attempting to come out on our walk back and the thought of tasty break time snacks spurred the girls on to return to school at a quick pace!
Happy reading everyone!
