IAG Autumn Update

So far this year the IAG girls have participated in our special Harvest Assembly when we thought about the foods we have and where they come from, all around the world.

We have also been finding out about how Christmas is celebrated in different countries. UNCRC Article 28 states that all children everywhere have the right to a good education. In spring term,  the IAG girls will be joining the international campaign Send My Friend to School! to help campaign for girls across the world to have their right to go to school.

International Action Group Autumn Update

The IAG girls led part of our Harvest Assembly, thinking about the foods we have in our cupboards which are from all around the world. We thought about how every child had the right to good food but that the reality was different for so many children. We are now in the process of reflecting the many languages spoken in our Prep families and making Christmas greetings to display. Next term, we will be helping to teach all the girls about the rights they have as children and how to ensure everyone in school enjoys them.

Summer Term Update

The International Action Group (IAG) have been very busy throughout the 2015/16 academic year. They have worked hard to develop their communication and collaboration skills as they connected with pupils from other cultures and traditions. They enjoyed launching our eTwinning projects within school. They worked successfully with 11 schools from nine different countries discussing Christmas traditions and exchanging Christmas cards. They welcomed pupils from Jingzhou Primary School, Zhejiang, China and exchanged information about our cultures.

The IAG girls will be busy this term with the Send My Friend to School campaign and promoting our annual Arts and Minds, cultural diversity competition, organised by NASUWT and judged by Gok Wan. I would like to thank all the IAG girls for their hard work and commitment in helping all our pupils become global citizens and their input towards attaining our Intermediate Level, International School Award.
