Jubilee Fun
Prep celebrated the Jubilee with a ‘through the decades’ theme with each class dressing up from the 1950s to present day. We had a catwalk show and learnt some new retro dance moves too! An ice cream van treat and picnic completed a super day for all.
Netball Success
Congratulations to the Prep 7 A and B Netball Teams. Gold and silver winners of the Belfast Area Finals. The A team can now look forward to the Northern Ireland Finals on Saturday 18th June. Well done, girls!
Elmer's Big Belfast Trail
Elmer the elephant sculpture has arrived in the Art Department of VCB and prep pupils were asked to design a brightly coloured circle that can be transferred to Elmer’s less colourful friend, Elton. The activity is being run in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Hospice with pupils donating £1 for participating in this craft to help support the Hospice’s important work.
Animal Magic
Prep 6 girls were excited to have the opportunity to learn about and handle reptiles in the classroom. Catherine from Amazon Jungle Show brought in a python, a chameleon, a gecko and a tortoise.
Prince's Trust Success at Hillsborough Castle
Congratulations to Maggie and Rachel who achieved their Prince’s Trust Awards at Hillsborough Castle. What an achievement!
NI Athletics Success for Martha
Prep 7 pupil, Martha McMurray, has been selected for the NI endurance athletics squad. She came in the top 20 in NI to achieve this place! Well done Martha!
World Around Us - WW2
In World Around Us, Prep 4 have been learning about life in World War Two. During a workshop run by the Active Learning Company, we got to try on different world war two clothes, learn about different weapons and play with some old toys. We made medals, raced through a tunnel wearing a soldier helmet and completed some code breaking. We all had a fabulous day and particularly enjoyed learning different military drill commands.
Trip to Titanic, Belfast
Prep 7 concluded their learning about the Titanic with an end of term trip to Titanic, Belfast. We enjoyed the gallery tour and discovered a lot about survival skills in the "Abandon Ship" workshop before completing a self-guided tour of the dry dock and slipway.
