Ulster Scots workshop with Prep and Inchmarlo
P1 had a wonderful time working alongside Mrs Carson-Hair and Sammy during our Ulster Scots workshop, joined by our enthusiastic P1 friends from Inchmarlo. As the session came to a close, we were delighted to welcome some familiar faces—our seasoned P2 pupils—who popped in to join us. They enjoyed the programme so much last year that they couldn’t resist coming back for more!
PJ day in Pre-School
Today was a magical Pyjama Day at pre-school, where comfort met creativity! The girls arrived in their cosiest PJs, ready for a day of imagination and fun. They built a snug little den using blankets, cushions, and plenty of giggles. Once their den was complete, they snuggled inside for a pretend sleep, whispering stories and sharing dreams.
Inspired by the idea of animals preparing for winter, the girls decided to "gather food" for hibernation. Their version? A yummy stash of treats!
Forever blowing bubbles…
Prep 3 had a magical time at Forest School, diving into the wonders of the Elder tree. The children discovered how this special tree has been used for centuries—from its berries and flowers to its hollow branches. They learned that Elder wood, with its soft pith, can be carefully hollowed out to create simple tools—and even bubble blowers!
Operation Christmas Child appeal
Mrs Marshall visited Prep today to launch the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal. Our CAG girls are working with Mrs Marshall to coordinate this important appeal in Prep.
Aspire Day 3
Prep 6 enjoyed their third Aspire Day with their friends from St Brides and Inchmarlo. The pupils had another art session with Sinead who taught the pupils to draw the Belfast skyline. Louise from Resilient Rhythms did some musical therapy. A great morning of fun for all.
Aspire Shared Education
Victoria Prep, Inchmarlo and St Brides Primary School have been actively participating in joint learning experiences that promote collaboration and friendship among pupils. These sessions feature a variety of activities—including music, ICT, sports, and Forest School—where pupils from different schools come together to learn, explore, and enjoy shared moments.
Prep 7 kick off the football season at Campbell College
Congratulations to our Prep 7 football team who represented us brilliantly at Campbell College today. With 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, the team secured an impressive second place overall. It was a fantastic day filled with fun and a great celebration of Prep sport!
School Council’s fundraising success
We’re thrilled to share that our School Council has successfully organised the purchase of brand-new playground resources—bringing fresh fun and energy to our outdoor spaces!
These fantastic additions were made possible through the fundraising efforts from last term’s necklace sale. The creativity and dedication shown by our School Council members truly paid off, and the whole school will benefit from their hard work.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated!
Carrying hope for Cancer Fund for Children
Last week, VCB Prep girls came together in the most creative way possible to support the Cancer Fund for Children—by bringing Anything But A Bag to carry our school supplies!
From wheelbarrows and prams to shopping baskets and even toy trucks, the girls showed off their imagination and sense of humour, all while raising vital funds for children and families affected by cancer.
Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm and generosity, we raised an incredible £580! Every penny will go towards providing emotional, practical, and therapeutic support to young children navigating the challenges of cancer.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped spread the word. Your support truly makes a difference. 💛
Prep 7 trip to York
The Prep 7 residential trip to York is always a highlight for the girls and the accompanying staff. This year we visited the York Chocolate Experience, JORVIK, Flamingo Land theme park and a tour of York Minster Cathedral before having a little retail therapy. The girls were impeccably behaved and a real credit to the school. A lot of fun was had tasting chocolate and enjoying the hair-raising rides as well as many special memories made during their final term in Prep 7. Thank you to the pupils for making this such a memorable experience and to Mrs Henderson, Miss Nixon, Mrs Kane, Mrs Welsh and Mrs Baker for accompanying the class.
